Zahtila Vineyards Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel 750ML
This vintage yielded low tannin levels in the juice, making this wine table friendly and very drinkable in its youth. At first whiff the nose of the wine finds the aroma of rich caramel. The essences of plum and red cherries appear on the palate with just a hint of oak framing the fruit. To round out its complexity the wine finishes with just a hint of black licorice. We have also been experimenting with more skin contact on white wines to see what we can get in the way of more complexity. We like to think we are building a tradition with our winemaking, but we always leave a little room for messing around with experiments.
